PFE - do I need WideFS or does it use simconnect?

As per the title, chaps. I've already got Aivlasoft's EFB and will be getting AS 2012 up on my networked PC - the only thing left to shift over to it is PFE. But my suspicion is it won't use simconnect and I'll have to shell out for WideFS. Anyone know what the story is?

fsuipc + WideFs and share folders for FP etc.
