How to tell what scenery is installed in FSX?

Recommended Posts

Are you the only user of the computer or has someone been sneaking stuff in while you were away?? :O

If you are the only user, do you normally suffer from memory loss??

When you look at an area are you unable to tell the difference from default and add on?? :P

Seriously though, most stuff goes through the Scenery Library. So if it's in the scenery library and it has a check mark next to the description, it's active. No check mark = not active.

The above would not apply to those things that need to be or have been installed into one of the default folders, such as a global texture replacement or mesh that was installed into a default folder.

BTW, a notepad and pencil will help keep track of these "memory loss" problems.

Well I did do a repair install of fsx including acceleration and I noticed while flying today the scenery didn't quite have the same sharpness as it did before the install repair, so I figured I needed some way of telling what was there and what not, thank you :)

I've never done a repair of FSX, but you might check the FSX.cfg file to see if a "pristine" version was put in, which might have voided any tweaks that may have been made in the past.
