FSX AA (Nvidia Inspector)

Featured Replies

Bjorn,

Be sure to type in MS at the top to find the FSX profile.

Here's my setup.

Be sure to "Apply Changes" tab at the top right..

A quick way to see if it works is when you load FSX and the guide wires of the powered glider are smooth and straight plus the image will have a somewhat softer and smoother quality to it.

Let us know if works for you!

Also in the FSX settings:

Antialiasing is checked and Anisotropic filtering is selected.

One last thing and the most important!

In your FSX CFG:

D3D10=0

If it is set to =1 you will not be able to get AA to work. This is repeatable on my system.

Well, =1 means you have DX10 Preview enabled and I like DX10 Preview.  I have perfect AA with DX10 Preview EXCEPT as I mentioned above for external spot views of aircraft.  When you turn on DX10 Preview, you need to shut down FSX and restart it for the AA/AF to work.

Best regards,

Jim

Jim, it's been my experience that when going back to DX9 from DX10- FSX will not automatically change the value back to 0.

Just changing the value to 1 in the cfg does not automatically enable DX10.

My Inspector settings are of course geared for DX9. They will not enable quality AA in DX10 on my system.

In fact I could never get AA to work properly in DX10 even with Steve's DX10 tweaks which is fine with me. Other than water effects I could tell little if any difference in visual quality or performance between the two.
