July 3, 201312 yr I read alot about people's un appreciated experiences with "shimmering". My apologies for being ignorant, but how would one describe "shimmering". The reason I ask, is because I have noticed since playing around Nvidia Inspector, that buildings, or distant urban areas, and AI aircraft at airports, especially from a distance, seem to twinkle. It doesn't appear to affect performance ... but it can really be distracting. I am running DX10 preview, 8xSQ (Combined: 2x2 SS +2x MS), 4xSS set in NVI, with in game Anistropic ant-aliasing selected. If the term shimmering is a mystery to me ... so are these settings ... so I admit my incompetance when I say I have no idea how, if at all these settings influence what I see. If what I am experiencing can be fixed, I acknowledge in advance anyone's advice on appropriate resources to check out, or any advice sent my way. RM Killins
July 3, 201312 yr If its twinkling it could be anisotropic filtering (AF). If you look at your plane in external view and see jaggy lines between the fuselage and the sky that would be anti aliasing. (AA). Shimmering could be AA or AF. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
