July 3, 201312 yr I have returned to the MD-11 after more than a year and to get into the saddle again I wanted to go through the tutorials again. I have come no further than tutorial #1 and its driving me nuts. Odd things happen that I do not remember having before now. I am doing tutorial #1 by the book, but I get overspeed every time at almost the same spot climbing to cruise level. I have a registered FSUIPC of the latest version with winds, pressure and turbulence disabled as I remember this could be a problem. Also winds aloft, turbulence and thermals disabled in FSX Acceleration. The overspeed also occur with and without controllers enabled. I feel that I am missing something here, but what? This series of screenshots shows what happens. Any help appreciated. At 6000 following SID Climbing towards 10000 Continuing a steady Econ climb to FL370 Still climbing to FL370 Suddenly a shift from Econ 345 to mach .826 (FMS speeds are changed) and now the overspeed protection Edited July 3, 201312 yr by mhlarsen
July 3, 201312 yr Hi Michael, The shift from ECON 345 to .826 Mach is normal. Your TAT is very, very high (+32°C at 28 000ft). This explains why you can't fly the .826 Mach, which you normally should be able too at this altitude. Do you use any external weather software like REX or AS2012? Best regards, Jonathan Huschle John Rubens

Used to fly with AS 2012 before Opus.Funny I have never noticed this shift before.
July 3, 201312 yr Hmm okay, Maybe you can try to fly the tutorial again without loading the save file provided by PMDG. Instead just start a new flight and select 'fair weather' (or however that clear weather thing is called). Please check if you get such hot TATs at those altitudes. Maybe you can also try it with AS2012 if you still have that, and check for TAT there. Best regards, Jonathan John Rubens

Best regards, Jonathan I actually started this tutorial from scratch with the Fair weather theme and just loading the panelstate. I still have AS2012 and could do the same flight with that running.
July 4, 201312 yr That sort of TAT behaviour is usually assicated with FSINN. Do you use Vatsim? Paul Smith.
July 4, 201312 yr Sorry guys, I have been without internet access for over 12 hours now. Will report back asap. Do not use FSINN at the moment. I have discovered though that Opus, although Live weather disabled, is apparently running a static weather theme.
July 6, 201312 yr Just did the tutorial without problems and Opus was managing the weather, so my TAT was fine again. The problem was that I wanted to do this tutorial by the book with FSX default weather. Not good apparently. Thanks all for your help :good:
