July 4, 201312 yr Really enjoying XP10 with my latest hardware build and had a very satisfying flight from KDFW. Shadows were casting around the cockpit at the "melt your GPU' level and my 780GTX was taking it all in stride, that is until I broke through the cloud deck above Little Rock, Arkansas. I was trying to get into the position for approach to 22R but got confused as I looked for the river; where the heck is it? I must have made an error in my judgment because that can't possibly be the Clinton International Airport even though it looks like the correct shape and orientation...the Arkansas river is missing! Holy Global Warming Batman it's true after landing and checking the web it turns out the river is missing.! How did that happen? I know there are some that say this is a flight simulator not a scenery simulator but at times like this I couldn't disagree more; visual landmarks and vfr reference points that some may say are nothing more than eye candy absolutely play an integral part of the virtual reality we are trying to achieve. It really put a downer on an otherwise positive flight I hope that omissions like this get taken care of quickly. RE Thomason Jr.
July 4, 201312 yr Well, from what I see, the good news is, that in the mean time the river was added in its full glory to OpenStreetmap (which is THE source for all hydrographic features in X-Plane 10 .... and if it was missing two years ago, when the Global Scenery data was pulled from OSM ... then thats the reason). See here: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.675&lon=-92.211&zoom=10&layers=M And if its now in OSM, then it will definitely be in this: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/412244-x-plane-10-hd-mesh-v2-preview/ Andras Fabian / Alpilotx Visit www.alpilotx.net, a site about X-plane scenery You can see some landscape and other photographs from me here: http://www.flickr.co...s/weathermaker/
