SDK Without FSX

Featured Replies

Hi all

Simple question, can you use the fsx sdk after having uninstalled fsx?

Thanks

Yes. You can. I don't remember though if you need a registry entry to trick it into thinking you have FSX installed or not though. I have just the SDK on one of my pc's that I use to make photoreal scenery. I had to make an entry in the registry in order for something to be happy but I can't remember if it was the SDK or SBuilder that needed it to be there. Hopefully someone else can give the answer. But it is definitely possible.

Here you go...I think this should do it and I believe it's what I followed for my setup: http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19042

Thanks!

So all I have to do is get the registry editor and do those things with those three files? Do you think this'll work the same even though I'm using the same computer that fsx was on, just uninstalled from it?

Yes. It should work even though you removed FSX. The Registry editor comes with Windows. Just type regedit in the Windows 7 search.
