I'd go via Dubai with Emirates if I ever wanted to go from Heathrow/Gatwick.

 

Luke, you'll end up in the fat, ugly whale if you fly from EGLL. Go Gatwick for the sake of the triple seven if you have to fly EK. At least 2/3 of my flight are with T7s. I stopped flying EK from EGLL since they terminated the T7 service from there. For now, I'm with BAW, QTR and Saudia because I always use EGLL
