ICAO AEROLOGIC

Featured Replies

Hi I would like to know why the ICAO code BOX is not recognized in VATSIM.
I made a Flight see below, but its' an unknown code.
http://vataware.com/flight.cfm?id=12036253
Have I to use the IATA code instead, which is 3S.
I also flew in ICAO GEC code which is Lufthansa Cargo and it works.
Where I can check recognized code used in Vatsim?
Thank you
Fabrizio

Vataware isn't run by Vatsim. It just uses the server data to populate information. Vataware isn't even run on a Vatsim server. Instead it appears to be run by an individual named Tim Krajcar.

VATSIM itself doesn't recognize any ICAO callsign codes at all. It just reports to the Controller what you put in there. The callsign data, as far as VATSIM itself is concerned, is really only useful for the ATC Controllers, and for sharing to the data sourcing servers for third parties (ie Servinfo, vattastic, vataware etc) to use if they want to (where any given field doesn't run out of character spaces).

Vataware then sees this data, and uses it's own systems to try to 'match' the stuff it sees to it's own local database of 'stuff'.

Vataware run their own forum at http://support.vataware.com/

Incidently one of the top topics on that forum is
