Some say it does wonders, some say (like me) that it has no effect at all... I tried the older versions of this utility a few times (it's been around for ages before Razer payed to get their name in the addon's name) and never had any benefit from it. Maybe it works well for very old desktops or slow laptops but for a regular PC with W7 you don't need this.

BTW I've heard of read that the Razer version needs you to register (?) or comes with additional stuff you don't need (?) so you are better off downloading an older version (pre-Razer) if you want to try this.

Hi,

Recently I downloaded the latest version. No extra software, no registration.

I have a new rig with W8.

Since RGB works perfectly by stopping background processes I don't need when flying and turns 'm back on when I stop FSX, I feel that every frame extra is a gain.

It's a free tool. Use it to your benefit.

In addition, when talking about frame rate improvement; I also benefitted from DXTFIX by Peter Nyman that was in the library the other day. And also by upgrading my video driver to the latest NVidia version.

In general shutting down some backround processes is waste of time and effort. Pretty much all of them just reside in the memory without actually doing anything untill process is called by other software or user. This can be easily seen even in task manager, that processor load for most of these tasks is zero. They consume thus only memory and only benefit you can gain by using some booster is if you are tight on memory (you have for example 4GB RAM) and you need to free mem for FSX or other software temporarily.
