December 14, 200421 yr With a couple aircraft in FS9, I get small static crackling and pops through my speakers. I've had this problem for as long as I remember, but it's especially bad with the Dreamfleet 727 which I just got. In some planes, it's both in the internal and external views, but for it only happens in the external view of the PMDG 737 for example. My soundcard is a Soundblaster Audigy Gamer. I have a Logitech 4.1 analog speaker setup. I've tried setting the hardware acceleration in DirectX to the different possible settings with a slight decrease when I go to no acceleration, but then other sounds are distorted. I've also adjusted the sound quality within FS with no change. Is there anything I can do to end the popping and cracking in the speakers? It's driving me crazy!! December 15, 200421 yr Hi Tim,I have this same problem and it's very annoying to say the least. I hope someone can give a fix for this.Hawk
December 15, 200421 yr HiFirst quick fix is to drop the sound hardware acceration down to one notch above the lowest setting,You can do this by typing in dxdiag in the startmenu~run then the sound tab and you will see the slidernext you can try removing the sound.cfg file (or rename it) then fire up Fs if noise go's away copy it back or rename it and open the sound.cfg file in notepad and comment out the sounds one at a time like so,//[left_TOUCHDOWN]//filename=cmtouch1, cmtouch2, cmtouch3start with ground roll, touch down ect as this is normally the prob as the contact points cause the aircraft to very lightly shake.if the sounds are alised then you will need to change the sound.cfg in the alised sound folder.Sometimes just removing all but one sound in each setting will fix the prob Ie change[left_TOUCHDOWN]filename=cmtouch1, cmtouch2, cmtouch3 To[left_TOUCHDOWN]filename=cmtouch1 Hope this helpsMaV
December 15, 200421 yr Author Try disabling/removing any sound equalizer software that came with the audigy. My sound card had some that would cause crackling. Goog Luck.
August 10, 200619 yr It has absolutly nothing to do with your sound cards or your hardware settings what soever! I has to do with the Fs9 sound.dll's. I have the same stupid crakles on a $5000.00 dual core system with SLI dual video cards and the latest hardware available. Do not waist your hard earned moneys for upgrades because it has to do with FS9 programing and Panel cfgs that cause the problems.
August 10, 200619 yr I had this problem. It always occurred around add-on airports. When I turned down the scenery complexity, the problem went away.Martin
