  1. Hi The emergency gear function wont work until the gear system has completely failed.Ie if hydraulic the system has to fail and all pressure droped before the cntl_G will work if electrical then the battery and generator have to be dead for it to workcheersWozza

    Hi Lots of ram will help,defrag ya drive,lock your fps way lower than what your system can do,switch of any unneeded background tasks,basically anything that will give you a bit more headroom so the sim can preload rather than playing catch upcheersWozza

    CD players in Bill Lyons a/c

    Hi BarryIve used it in some aircraft and have found on faster machines it causes a pause as it polls an external DX9 function,factor in that some system have the cdrom on the same channel as HD (also if you have the enable digital cd audio) can cause a lot of traffic on the ide buss which cause slow downs as it get sorted or at worst CTDcheersWozza

HiMsoft has been (in the last year at least) doing an DX update every 2 mths This is just a house keeping thing it adds new controlers and any fixsthat maybe need for new hardware to workIve been updateing every 2 mths and have never seen an increase in fps, but some of my usb device now appear more stableso do you need it? who knows but it most certanly wont hurt :)cheersWozza

HiA quick and dirty method so long as the sound is in the right format.Right click on the sound in the sound folder select recorder from the dropdown menu,next click on the effect tab and you can up the volume by 25% at a time till happy.Then exit the recorder program and save when promptedWozza

Hi NickThis Prob total wrong but hey I like getting shot down in flames its how I learn no pain no gain:) My understanding of Manifold pressure is as the revs raise so will the manifold pressure,more air is forced into the engine means more pressure.As alt climbs air thins meaning less pressure,then the supercharger is engaged(make it SO number one :D ) to stuff more of the thin air into the engine cheersWozza

HiThe startup wake and water are hard coded these are triggered by sim conditons and cant be assigned new conditions.Wake and water will happen when a contact point hits water,startup happens when engine is started/running.The normal start up effect has a small start/finish timer so its only seen at start up,If you assign an effect that has a loop timer,then you will see it all the time when engine runing.CheersWozza

HiThe only way around this is to nest the effects into 1 effect eg:put all the nav lights into 1 effect.This means a bit of work getting the locations right,but it will free up the amount of available lights,Also you can use the smoke system and use the default effects to fire up the contrails.If you have an effect which works on the engine running you can use the EFFECTS Startup= Wozza

Darn thats one nice looking gunsite :)I think your problem is there is no tailhook or waterrudder entries in the aircraft.cfg water rudder add this to the contact points sectionpoint.8=5, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0, 0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.00, 3.00, 0.05, 0, 0.0, 0.0tailhook add to the aircraft.cfg[TailHook]tailhook_length = 1tailhook_position = 0, 0, 0cable_force_adjust = 1I would prob use the water rudder as the tailhook flashs the taihook up down message in FS9 also you could use the concorde nose animation its nice and slow the only downside to it is it causes the nose.wav to play (the sound file is in the fs9/sounds folder)Wozza
