July 25, 201312 yr Hi people of avsim . I have come on here today for help. To start off the problem I have (what the topic title says) has been going on for months on end. It started when I had fsx running so perfect, ( to my standards) and I tried to make the jump to dx10 which was a horrible decision, which got me this problem. I have reinstalled already and gone through the tweaking forums and still I am dealing with this crap. It is so frustrating I miss flying so badly :cray: . Plus even though I get around 30 fps, I still get very unsmooth results. Help would be much appreciated whoever has dealt or knows how to deal with this issue. And just for proof here is a unlisted video I have posted showing the problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1N_T0kRcv8
July 25, 201312 yr I think lots of us have that texture glitch issue. Try this, once the flight is loaded go into spot view and pan 360 around the aircraft a few times and then enjoy your flight. What that does is fill up the texture pools, so it should get rid of the glitching. Jordan Chin
July 25, 201312 yr Author Yeah but that still doesn't help with the smoothness issue. :( Do you have to do that 360 thing every flight? Do you experience this same issue???
July 25, 201312 yr Author This is part of the problem also forgot to mention, when I look down on building and trees and such it doesn't look smooth if you know what I mean. It looks like as I fly over them that they are moving then they stop move again stop move again stop really quickly.
July 25, 201312 yr Yep every flight. Here's what NickN has to say about the glitches: Black flashes or scenery spikes when a flight FIRST LOADS: THIS IS NORMAL when a flight first starts, it is the way FSX is designed!.. what you do when a flight first loads is go to the locked spot exterior view and pan 360 degrees around the outside of the plane at least 5 or 6 times.. then go back into the cockpit That preloads the video buffer and clears the glitches. Its normal with FSX and that is how you deal with it, those flashes should clear and not appear again IF you continue to see flashes and scenery spikes constantly that do not stop then there is something that needs to be trimmed in setting or slider.. it means the scenery load is too high for the hardware period! Pan locked-spot exterior view 360 6 times, then fly. Regarding your smoothness, it sounds like you have microstutters. Getting rid of them can range from a lot of things. Maybe turning down some settings might help. Jordan Chin
July 25, 201312 yr Author Hmm interesting, I wouldn't know what to do on that, but I think I got a case of microstutters! I am finally glad that the problem is acknowledged.
July 25, 201312 yr Author Wow I just talked to NickN to see what it is, and I got a really really rude reply. Lol.
July 25, 201312 yr Hi, It might help if you posted your hardware specs, and what you have "tweaked" or not first. And to say Nick gave you rude reply suggest to me that you didn't bother to read his guide and do your own work first before bothering him. Just saying, it helps to help yourself first so that other then can assist. Have you tried backing up and deleting the FSX.cfg file then letting FSX rebuild it, then go from there? July 25, 201312 yr Author Hold up, yeah I need to post my specs thanks for pointing that out . I have done the backing up and deleting before. Sorry lol how do you update your specs like you did?
July 25, 201312 yr Author I don't quite know how to upload my specs under the post, I have it listed on the side though.
July 27, 201312 yr Author I'm sorry I have to keep posting stuff but can we just get through this? I am only posting this cause it keeps getting lost from all the other posts.
