MaskClass CTD bug fix needed now?

Featured Replies

This thought just occured to me, whilst repling to a thread about landclass.Pre FS9.1 I changed the terrain.cfg file to avoid the CTD that it caused.Did the patch alter the terrain.cfg back to "normal", or do I need to stick the terrain.cfg file back in from off the CD's?Does 9.1 not need this fix anymore?, I am guessing noDan.

Hi Dan,"This thought just occured to me, whilst repling to a thread about landclass.Pre FS9.1 I changed the terrain.cfg file to avoid the CTD that it caused.Did the patch alter the terrain.cfg back to "normal", or do I need to stick the terrain.cfg file back in from off the CD's?Does 9.1 not need this fix anymore?,"...if it was me, I would:1. Check the file dates for modification, creation and access. In my case these are 03/06/2003, 20/05/2004 and 20/05/2004 respectively which suggests that it has not been touched by the update.2. If not happy with 1. I would compare my original backup of the file following my mods with the suspected update. It's a huge file, but if you can remember your mod this task should be somewhat easier.3. If still not happy, I would uninstall the 9.1 update (having kept a copy of your modified terrain.cfg) and then restore terrain.cfg from the installation CD1 - you'll find it in the 'Game folder (note the date of modification is 03/06/2003). I would then reinstall the 9.1 Update and test to see whether the CTD occurs. If it does, then your question will have been answered. At the very least, you will now know that no fixes have been applied either to terrain.cfg or elsewhere to correct this particular CTD. I would then reinstate your modified version of terrain.cfg, test again and then, hopefully, you should be able to relax :)Mike

I did a clean uninstall and reinstall when the patch came out. I haven't applied any of the CTD fixes, and I haven't had one crash so far. Although I never crashed all that often before, so I can't say that they are gone for sure. So far so good though.
