October 30, 200421 yr How does registration of this module effect FS 2004 or any addon programs?I use SB and am content. I saw at one time , depending on which version you used, there was information easily available to register the program..for SB with a code? I do not have registered ver and sb works, what am I missing not downloading and regeristing the latest version? Some times I get a notice that the program is not accredited or regerstered..what does this mean...correct me here if I am wrong :-).I am not a teckno geek and will not play with too many adjustments I =can not handle? Is this what a reg version is for..those who like to ""tweak""to the limit?Soory..someone fill me in here.Give example..reg or nor reg!ThanksMike
October 30, 200421 yr Mike,The basic function of FSUIPC is communications. It allows other programs, gauges and modules to communicate with FS. With the non-registered version, that is pretty much all you get.If you register, you get some other stuff:Basic controls over weather - limitations on wind, turbulence, clouds, if you want them.Ability to assign pretty much any FS function to any key or joystick button.Enhanced calibration of joystick axes.Misc fixes, like battery life, control acceleration (on mouse click areas in gauges)Regards,Doug Dawson
October 31, 200421 yr So what you are saying...""If you register, you get some other stuff:Basic controls over weather - limitations on wind, turbulence, clouds, if you want them.""There is not much of a gain for the average user?I am quite content with what I see now! :) Sooo...Reg version is for the serious simmer...or possibly more programs (modules) in the future may require registration for proper function? Right? ..Thanks!Mike

The joystick calibration is alone worth the price of the registration. Peter Dawson's module is a treasure chest. (Note to self: it always amazes me to see people who will gladly cough up $20 $30 for a couple of movie tickets to go see Friday XIII Part 345, but get belly aches when it comes to investing a little in their flight sim hobby)(Second note to self: also surprised why folks don't just maneuver over to Dawson's webpage where the functions of the registered and unregistered version of fsuipc 3.40 are clearly explained).ricardo
October 31, 200421 yr cough up $20 $30 for a couple of movie tickets to go see Friday XIII Part 345, and get belly aches >what? My question was..what is the ..main advantage..Second note: some kind folks at the forum here..explain to "US" the fine details of the ''upgrade' which sometimes is more informative than the site. And ..you do not know how much $$ I have spent on software , hardware and other to judge....bellyaching?I have a forcefeed back..do not use it (my preference :-)MB
October 31, 200421 yr I am sure its worth registring for.I bought 737 package that included registered version of FSUIPC, and I woudl love to register but no way has it ever let me. Wants extra 20-30 bucks every time.E-mails go unanswered, and in general I lost interest.

You still haven't explained to anyone on this thread, what exactly a mediocre sim is, so I guess I can't spot it. I have a free program to calibrate my CH yoke , made by CH , that does a great job. Weather by Active Sky, that controls clouds and winds... Maybe if you could provide the unregistered owner some concrete examples of what we are missing, instead of trying to insult people, you might do a better job of proving your point.
