October 31, 200421 yr Hello All,Since this morning when the clocks went back to GMT from British Summer Time I've been unable to use the 'Create a Flight' option on FS9.1. The skin doesn't get drawn on the picture of the selected aircraft which appears below the options. The aircraft revolves at slideshow speed.Selecting any option freezes the game.Only way out is to kill flight sim via the Task Manager.Processor Occupancy goes up to 100% while frozen. Is anyone else in the UK suffering this problem? Could it be a nice little time bomb from someone at Microsoft?Jon
October 31, 200421 yr no problem here, i use 2 identical start flights except one is set for summer (BST) and the other for winter (GMT)
October 31, 200421 yr Can't emulate the problem here at all - tried "Create a flight", "select a flight "Saved flights( - saved in BST - work fine in GMT)and Flight Planner- all work OK so I suggest your problem may be something other than the update/time change etc.DaveLymingtonHants
October 31, 200421 yr No problem once into FS2004, but I did get the "reloading scenery" and "building database" messages, which took quite a while. I hadn't updated any scenery files or AFCAD's since last using it yesterday.
November 1, 200421 yr <<< but I did get the "reloading scenery" and "building database" messages, which took quite a while >>>Hey that just happened to me! It was like I had just installed FS9...Why does that happen?
November 1, 200421 yr I'm not sure but I'm guessing it may have something to do with updating the date stamp on the seasonal textures, or something along those lines.Mike
November 1, 200421 yr Happened to me too, took for ever too before the Loading scenery window popped up. If I had not read this post I may not have had let it run long enough to get to the scenery pop up and just teminated the program.Stephen,http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
November 1, 200421 yr Yep, Same here.I did not connect the reason why this massive update was happening.BST!!
November 1, 200421 yr >Yep, Same here.>>I did not connect the reason why this massive update was>happening.>>BST!!>>>Well, I'm in Washington State and we went off Daylight Savings time over the weekend. We/I had the exact same problem. It took forever for FS to come online yesterday. Never did get everything ironed out but it seems to be working fine this morning. :D
November 1, 200421 yr >Yep, Same here.>>I did not connect the reason why this massive update was>happening.>>BST!!>>>Ditto from me...just doin a "bump" to keep this at the top!
November 1, 200421 yr All of this begs an answer to the question - why does this happen to some and not others?Didn't happen here - I've checked time and date correct in FS9- Clock change has obviosly been taken into account so why doesn't this happen to everyone?Odd..............Dave
November 1, 200421 yr My problem is that FS9 won't regognise the time change. In my case it's showing the GMT as BST. and GMT is one hour behind. Computer clock changed ok. Any ideas?
November 6, 200421 yr Here in the US I am having similar crashing and time problem, as well as problems saving a default flight. I can't save a flight and make it default, instead it loads up KSEA, I change the airport to somewhere near me, KSFO, KOAK, KSJC, and it puts the clock back an hour even though all airports are in the same timezone. I tried creating a new default flight with the correct time saved, and what does it do? Wipes that and keeps showing the old flight again! And now I cannot get my airplane or taxiway textures to load, they're all black at night. The only time I can see the airplane is when I turn on the lights, and then only the lit parts display. In the VC its a whole different story, everything is black, the dome light flickers on and off when I hit L but only the gauges stay lit...basically fs is messing with me because all I wanted to do tonight was fly
