August 9, 201312 yr Can a Real Cessna 182 fly into clouds safely in winter weather? If so, what about icing conditions? I don't see deicing modeled in FSX C-182 planes including my Carenado. Thanks. Tom
August 9, 201312 yr A quick search leads me to believe that the "default" 182 is not certified for icy conditions, but it can be added as an after-market modification. http://www.airventure.org/news/2009/090802_ice.html
August 9, 201312 yr While it is better than nothing, note that these upgrades are not de-icing equipment. If you start to pick up even a little ice this stuff isn't designed to shed it off like the more advanced systems on more capable aircraft. It should buy you time to climb or descend to an altitude where ice will not build up.
