Windows 8 and 777

Featured Replies

Hello.

Just wanted to know if some of the team or the beta testers did took it on Windows 8. I doubt there will be problems actually the NGX works fine for me.  I guess the 777 will probably wnot have trouble with it but just being curious.

I've switched to windows 8 a couple of months ago. I've not had any kind of "joystick stopping responding" which I had seen talked about, ut most importantly it allows me to finally take advantage of FS2Crew Voice Edition, which I could not use before. On that Windows 8 is a great step forward for me. Sure there were the vistalizator stuff and all, but did not really like it, and you can't keep windows updated if you do that on an already activated system.

I would be interested to know how it handles on window 8. I have nothing but good remarks for windows 8 and how well the ngx performs on it.

It'll run! Everything flight-sim related that runs on Win7 will perfectly run on Win8.

Also keep in mind, PMDG are using the same "code-basis" for the 777 as they used for the NGX.

With kind regards, Bogdan Misko.

Not sure if everything will run on Win8 for FSX!

NGX runs like a charm without any problem even when powering up FSX in the morning like today and flying for 7 hours now.

But I had the Joystick disconects as well!

Configured everything via FSUIPC, switched the FS internal Joystick Controls of and now all works fine :D

I guess the 777 will perform as well as the NGX does on Win8!

Apparently not just as an example took the time to reinstall good old LevelD 767 and it just freeze at many occasion when doing some actions, seems mainly like turning landing lights on/off just freeze everything in FS for a few seconds. On their forum someone had the trouble and they just don't support Win 8 so anything can happen. I do believe this combination to have been tested by PMDG or some Beta testers but just checking how it's going if someone di take it for a test on that system.
