Gents, I have both MT and UT on sealed DVD's laying around. I run SB4 with VIP-models and paperplanes...

 

I don't want to use AI-traffic as I only fly online, but I would like to install one (or both?) of the traffic addons I own, then use the SMSCreator from ******* to make myself a reasonably good model library for SB4 to use.

 

Does anyone of you bright heads here know if any of the two mentioned addons can be installed, cannibalized for SMSCreator use, and then be removed again, without messing up my FSX install?

 

My main problem is that I don't understand how AI-traffic addons work. Do they mess with my scenery.cfg, terrain.cfg or dll.xml or other system files in some way?

The models will have to stay on your computer one way or the other - You can't have Squawkbox using them if they aren't there.

 

I suggest you install the AI mods, go to SimObjects and take out all the models (I am assuming it installs something like SimObjects/MyTrafficX). Copy that MyTrafficX to someone, and then uninstall the program so it removes whatever it uses to place the aircraft with real flights etc. Once you have uninstalled, copy the MyTrafficX back to SimObjects and run the SMSCreator by *******.

 

This is how I used the IVAO_MTL without having Ivap etc. installed.
