  1. Thanks Pilecan, I have SCE, and the problem persitst even if I disable all areas snd just run default. I think there's a rogue file in the global\scenery or world\scenery, perhaps left by a bad uninstaller? Cheers,
  2. Thanks, gentlemen, I would have appx 300 areas I think.
  3. Thanks Kev, I've tried a bunch of them, but pitch up/down was a good idea, I'll let the hoardes know when I find it Cheers,
  4. Gentlemen, I've recently dusted off the excellent Jetstream 4100 to fly some Sunscan routes for BAVirtual. I've all my Saitek hardware set up via FSUIPC and power, reverse and condition levers are working perfectly. Only one issue; I can't seem to find the correct offset to program the VS/IAS thumbwheel to one of my rockerswitches. As this control has dual functionality, I'm at a loss on how to do this correctly. If anyone has a tip on how to do this, I'd be gratefull. Cheers,
  5. Thanks mate, I have read it through and tried all suggestions except repair... Ain't sure if I dare Would like to know if there's a kind of log for the FSX startup though. Cheers,
  6. I've got this irritating feature on my system now. Just as if I've altered an active scenery area, the scenery database keeps rebuilding at every startuo, except I didn't I've disabled all but the default scenery areas with SceneryConfig Editor, and the issue stil persists. I'm painfully aware that something propably got changed in my World\scenery or Global\scenery, but I'm not able to figure it out. I wonder if there are any way to intercept which element this process actually grabs, through a log file or something? Cheers,
  7. I own and manage a 8-person company; the Norwegian distributor for a world wide brand making computerized engraving- / milling and lasermarking machines.
  8. Congrats on your setup Mike, I've just been over on your Youtube-channel, great stuff. Cheers,
  9. Very interesting link Kyle, I'm sure it's ye old, but I was never close to reading that, thanks for sharing. Cool thing with flight simulator, it sometimes can be a flight stimulator, i.e. on a wet looking runway it can feel to be a pain to get her to slowing down
  10. As usual, Steve and Ray is on the point. I'm staying on FSX Accel, my well tuned networked setup since 5 years (!) delivers what I need. Will not change until I build a new beast and start fresh with P3D, btw interesting to follow that discussion too, deja vú from the F9-FSX discussion ten years ago, still going on too Happy New Year friends!
  11. Solved, again. It was the old trust bug described by Pete here: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/68382-fsx-fails-to-run-after-fsuipc4-first-installed/ Endless rearranging of the DLL's finally made it load. Cheers,
  12. Thank you Sir! That's certainly something I never have dared to try before I'm on a rock solid install from 2010, very carefull not to mess around too much. The last time it "suddenly" solved itself when I upgraded to a newer version of FSUIPC and/or rearranged bglmanx.dll, and pow Pete is gone until the 6th so no new version before that. I'll play around with the dll's and refresh the trusting some more, I might find the golden combo. Cheers,
  13. Kyle, I'll resurrect this thread as I've got the same issue now after installing / updating my FSDT Addon Manager. Reverting to backups of cfg/xml / uninstallimg FSDT does not help, I have a feeling that my issues are with SimConnect. I'm on FSX Accel, I have all three SimConnect versions installed. Simconnect.log does not give me anything as I'll appcrash as soon as I answer yes to load pmdgsounds.dll. The last time I got it to loosen up by rearranging dll.xml and update my FSUIPC. As I said, I feel like I'm lead on a goosechase when something underlying / structural is wrong. I must admit not checking the readme you mention, as I don't own FSX:SE, but my search pulled this thread. Does sound very similar. Is there something I could try to "reinstate" Simconnect, or at least shake it around abit? Thanks mate,
  14. Many good points here, with regards to the issue with photoscenery, that applies to all scenery with photoscenery bgl's that covers smaller areas, not only large scenery packs with "photoareas". I use the freeware Scenery Config Editor to group and switfly disable groups of areas that I don't need for a certain flight. Makes all the difference in my setup.
  15. That did the trick, don't know why I was so apprehencive about rebuilding fsx.cfg, it went without a hitch. I did a three hour flight in the PMDG 777 and all good. Thanks again!
  16. Thanks Jim, your brilliant CTD guide is always in hand. The strange thing is that nothing in my setup has been changed, except for the three freeware sceneries, that are now removed. I also copied back a verified working fsx.cfg. Ah, the conondrums of FSX I will try to rebuild the fsx.cfg, do you know what I will loose from my setup when I do that? I run a networked setup with controllers mapped by FSUIPC. Also; happy holidays to you Jim! Cheers,
  17. Gents, my FSX crashes when loading. It happens exactly when "Loading terrain data" is finished, and "loading autogen starts". The faulting module is terrain.dll. Since my last successful flight, I've installed freeware scenery Rovaniemi revisited, ESPA and ENAN. I uninstalled all three, certain one of those was the culprit, but no luck. Then I rolled back a backup of default scenery, the 0001- and world, still no success. I also tried with an earlier fsx.cfg, still no luck. I then rebuilt the scenery indexes, facilities, still with the same result. I continued by renamed Addon Scenery, thus starting up with only default scenery, still no luck. I have a creeping feeling that this has to do with my PC, the only thing I've done since it was working is to upgrade iTunes... No Windows Updates in between. I will try to restore a complete FSX backup from 24.11, that means all directories and files in all FSX related locations like AppData and so on. Next step after that would be to roll back a image of my whole PC from 24.11. Does anyone have a tip on what I should be looking at? Is there a way to log the file that terrain.dll is reading when it hangs? Cheers,
  18. I'm using WOAI models and UT2, then I run VMRGenerator (http://www.lekseecon.nl/VMRGenerator.html) and it makes a rules-file based on my installed models. Very easy. You'll still get the occational default plane, that's the other guys fault, nothing you can do Good luck!
  19. Just awesome!
  20. Brilliant gentlemen, thanks!
  21. Interesting, thanks for the tips! What about the cloud settings in FSX, I always believed ASN to override everything, but I read somewhere that it has an impact. Secondly, the last paragraph intrigues me, why the difference in USA/Canada? Cheers,
  22. Very cool, never seen that before, thanks for sharing!
  23. Finally managed to solve it, I rearranged my dll.xml, put the FSDT file bglmanx.dll at the very bottom as per Umberto's advice, still got the error message when starting FSX, but this time when pressing OK on the question if I wanted to load PMDGSounds.dll anyway, there was no CDT. Next time I started FSX, no error message! Happy times!
  24. Will do, thanks!
