August 19, 201312 yr I'm having a bit of trouble recently with my Logitech Extreme 3d pro Joystick. I Have the flaps mapped to buttons 5 & 3, and the Elevator trim settings on 4 & 6, while the D-pad controls camera views. Recently, I have noticed that buttons 3 -> 6 seem to control rudder and/or views, and when pressed, as well as their mapped commands, rendering the Z-rotation useless. It is really annoying me, as it basically makes FSX unplayable. Any ideas? Yes, I have posted this in the Main Avsim hardware forum, but that forum seems 'dead' Jarrad Symes Perph, Western Australia

For example, if you us FSUIPC, you might have one button mapping there and another button mapping in FS X's internal mapping. How, precisely, is your joystick set up? Mike

Mike I have the Joystick configured as follows Buttons 5 - 3 (grey buttons left side of stick) control flaps up/down 4 & 6 (right side of stick top) control trim up/down Axes as expected , X - ailerons, Y - elevator, Rotation/Twist - Rudder, Slider - Throttle. Axes configured as default when plugging stick in, buttons calibrated through FSX in-game settings Haven't touched FSUIPC at all, but run paid 4.86 version Axes work fine until I hit one of 3-4-5-6 buttons, then reverts to button 5 - rudder left, button 3 - centre rudder, #4 - rudder right. No response to twist. Only seemed to have happened recently, have flown before with this configuration no problems. Affects all aircraft Jarrad Symes Perph, Western Australia
August 20, 201312 yr Hi Jarrad, I have the same joystick, but using FSUIPC for the main joystick mapping. Similar button assignments. Some other things to try: 1) The joystick comes with software that is also capable of remapping the buttons, and has the ability to set up specific configurations for each game. Should be under All Programs>Logitech. Take a look at that software and make sure it does not have some odd keystroke mapping. 2) Temporarily remove FSUIPC from its normal folder and see if the problem goes away. (Also there is a more recent version of FSUIPC available). If that does fix the problem, try removing the fsuipc.ini file so that FSUIPC generates a clean one and see if that fixes the problem. Don't delete the old ini as you are probably using it for other functions. Hope this helps! Please let me know either way if either suggestion works. Mike

August 21, 201312 yr Just removed FSUIPC.ini from the folder, and it seemed to have cured the problem. Glad to be of help! Before I had the Logitech, I had a controller with no twist axis. So I had buttons set up for left, right and center rudder. Wondering if you did too, and the settings were still in FSUIPC? I think FSUIPC will now generate a new ini file, most likely without the settings that caused the problem. Mike
