August 24, 201312 yr Chaps, a word of warning. Something I discovered today... No doubt you will be buying Asus boards, they are the best, but beware. Asus Ai Suite is a very good utility, in particular Fan Xpert 2, I use it to control my case fans. However, within Ai Suite there's a module called Network iControl. Get rid of it, it will hammer your internet download speeds. It dropped my download speeds from 75 Mbs to 16. To disable it, go to add/remove programs and double click Ai Suite. Click uninstall, and an Asus panel will pop up enabling you to uninstall just that module. Just disabling it in Ai Suite settings doesn't work, it must be uninstalled. This is for the latest version of Ai Suite for my MB [P8Z77-V Deluxe] not sure if it's different for other versions. This is a well known issue apparently
August 25, 201312 yr Author Do pay attention to this lads. Many have been foxed by why their download speeds were crippled, only to discover it was Network iControl responsible. If you have Ai Suite installed, do check that your download speeds are okay.
August 25, 201312 yr Commercial Member In general I try not to install any unnecessary junk that's bundled with hardware like this. Even AI Suite itself is unnecessary if you understand the BIOS/UEFI well enough to make all your OC settings there etc. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
August 25, 201312 yr Author Yes I agree. Much within Ai Suite is unrequired. It has some good features though. I just use Ai Suite for Fan Xpert 2, which I find very good indeed. For overclocking, I always overclock from within the UEFI, but I gave the Asus automatic overclocking utility a shot, just out of curiosity. It overclocked my system way too far. To the point where my CPU was at 90 degrees in Aida 64, and that was without AVX enabled. Turbo V Evo is best avoided in my opinion. And Network iControl is best uninstalled, just setting it to disabled in settings doesn't work. Why Asus would not bother to fix a known issue like this baffles me.
