August 25, 201312 yr Hello, I am having problems with KSFO airport textures. The runways are covered with grass. I have been trying to trouble shoot this problem since early July. I did have an add-on airport for KSFO and later disabled it from my FSX scenery and also deleted it completely from FSX due to bad frame rates, and now KSFO is a mess! I had my mesh resolution settings always around 38, but now in order to get rid of the grass on the runways, it has to be at 152. Is there a way to fix this? I prefer lower number settings for the mesh settings. Also, one of the terminals is having a problem and it is a light transparent blue at the bottom half and you can see through the terminal to the other side. (see pictures). I also noticed the frame rates are bad as well as though it still had an add on airport, along with KMIA and KJFK where I also had airport addons but got rid of them due to poor frame rates. The frame rates were fine before I added the add on aiports. Cray Foley
August 25, 201312 yr Commercial Member Something must still be active in another folder somewhere, sometimes airport developers put elevation adjustments in the Scenery\World\Scenery folder, you might look there for anything related to KSFO and move it out temporarily to see if KSFO returns to normal. Failing that I'd say contact the airport developer. Of course your frames were fine before the airport installation, addon airports affect frame rates, there's no way around it. You can't be mad at a developer because they add details that affect frame rates, that's what you pay them to do.
August 25, 201312 yr Author I cannot locate KSFO in FSX folders and I deleted the add ons. I am not mad at the developers and I knew there may be a risk with the add on airport frame rates and since they did not work out for me, I took them out of FSX. But I still cannot understand why it would still be effecting my FSX default airports when the add on is no longer there. Cray Foley
August 25, 201312 yr Commercial Member If the KSFO installer will allow you to install the addon into a folder other than the FSX folder you could run the installer again but this time install it into a temporary folder somewhere. Then you could browse the temporary folder and see if there were any files you missed when you removed it from FSX. Jim
