i did it!!! i finally actually installed some freeware aircraft AND installed the panels too plus the gauges! never in a million years did i think i could do it. the problem now is what am i going to do with them all?!!! i got around ten altogether but have only installed a few so far. the first one is the dash8 from dreamwings design i think it is and the dash8 panel by marco spada. big applause for them! a job well done. another awesome one is the eclipse500. it's the latest in the new digital mfd format, for me anyway. a big thanks. another is the pilatus, haven't installed it yet but looks to be a winner. i know you guys have tons of addons but my hands are full with these few and am not sure if i should have got them all or not. well yes i am but what in the heck or how in the heck do you get into all these great aircraft? i can only get into one at a time, guess i'll check them all out and zero in on the one that gets gets my attention the most. this is really to cool. well, gonna go and digest some of this. be back later. william

Will,Welcome to the Hobby of Flight Sim. That is exactly how I got into FS all these years ago now. I downloaded some scenery, and when I finally figured out how to install it I was really excited like you are now. It is great downloading stuff, and trying it out. Now that you have done this, it just gets easier and easier! If you like GA aircraft, next thing Id install, is GA-Traffic, it is amazing. It will populate all GA airports with realistic traffic. If you want, you can add the ones you just installed, to it. If they have textures with a total size greater than 3 megs, it also has a feature to make AI aircraft of them. Ive added 86 aircraft! Then, to speed up your frame rates, you can transfer installed aircraft you dont use to a folder you name Backup FS9... I only keep in the aircraft folder, the current aircraft that I fly. All other default aircraft go to my backup folder. If today I decide to fly something different, I just copy it back into the aircraft folder. There is I believe even a program which will do this for you... Bob

Now you gone and done it. Your life will never be the same. You won't be satisfied with just a few. You soon will need more and more add-ons. Soon you will find your self stealing any spare time you have just to find more add-ons. And, as far as I know, there is no 12 step process for this addicition, so you may soon end up like all the rest of us here. Good luck.

Now my hard disk is an orgy of Posky, iFDG, PMDG & Meljet!I like flying the Japanese domestic routes! Those guys use planes like the 747-400 & 777 on 40-minute hops! Hell yea :)

You can tell your wife, what I told mine. If I had boating for a hobby, it would cost tens of thousands more, and I'd be out there fishing or whatever, and you'd never see me for weekends.
