Very well said Chris, I have been thinking about this same thing for some time now. I have an older but not ancient computer and have FSX installed on it. I bought a couple of Carenado add ons, and a few other things but my frames are mediocre at best. The only reason I still have a desk top PC anymore is for FS, and it is hard to spend a lot of money just to upgrade to a new (and admitedly old now) version of FSX. Guess I am sticking with FS2004 for a little while longer... Congrats on the move, and hope you have many years of FS bliss... Cheers, Scott

Try Tinker Air Force Base by John Stinstrom. It is in the Avsim file library. Very acurate, and good freeware scenery. It is an AFB but there is a big Navy presence with the E-6 Wing there. I was a Tower controller there for awhile and we had F-18's come through there all the time for gas and go. V/r Scott

Vincent (vgage) is absoulutely correct. This is how is solved my whacky AFCAD problem with (simmer sky) japanese airports. I thought that the installer had put the AFCADS in the folders with the install, but that is not the case. Scott

I was getting the same error. I have been intalling my own AI lately and I had not numbered one of the aircraft correctly. Once I found the culprit /a United 747 I had installed/ resequenced the numbers in the aircraft cfg file...the Delta package installed with no errors.Not sure fi this will help you, but it worked for me.Cheers,Scott

Cloud 9 KLAX still looks good in FS9 and worth the price today. It was developed by the same guys at FSDreamteam, just represents their earlier stuff...not bad stuff. I just flew through KLAX real world...Cloud 9 is still a good choice for this airport.The new FSDreamteam KLAX is going to be for FSX only...

I flew into Denver the other day (real world) and realized that my AI at Denver was way out of date. So recently I went about updating it, I hadn't realized how much Southwest had taken over the C concourse and my World of AI install wasn't representing the Southwest traffic there so I installed AIG flightplans with MRAI. I also noticed that Great Lakes had a big presence at the end of A concourse so I updated that with flight plans from Brian Wheatley, and installed new repaints for that. Then I started thinking about the Delta Northwest merger. I still fly into my FS airports and see Northwest repaints and wonder if there are actually Northwest liveries left? I can delete the Northwest AI and only use Delta, but then I would need to go back and update all of my airports AFCAD that have Northwest parking codes with Delta parking codes :Silly:Then there is the United/Continental merger...they are coming out with new UniCO paint schemes all the time. When will my Continental/United hubs be totally out of date?!? How do you guys keep your AI up to date? AI can be a full time job!

Been buying scenery from Gary and UK2000 team for years and love all of his stuff...guess I will end up upgrading this one too. The other version is still very good though :) I bought the upgrade to EGLL the other day and liked it...like you said it wasn't huge difference but you could see the extra effort he put into it and was well worth the reasonable upgrade price. I've been using ai smooth for a long time. I also have /occasional/ issues with ai on final...but like was mentioned, this is freeware and I was happy with the results. Thanks for posting these settings I will try them out. I haven't optimized my setup after all this time! This post is why I keep checking this forum...always good stuff here,Cheers,Scott

I was stationed in Turkey for two years...loved every minute of it. Turkey/Antalya is beautiful, love this scenery, hoping for more Turkey scenery!

OPA is totally correct about the mountain fix for Memphis...download that file and the mountain in Memphis is gone!!
