Level D Menu Crash *FSX*

Featured Replies

Hello !

I'm having a problem with accessing the level d menu in fsx. I get a crash to desktop.... However this doesn't happen every single time, but enough to cause some frustration. I understand others have had this problem as well. Any solutions ?

I'm aware this is not the official forum :)

Thx

Ron

This is a known issue with the Level-D systems.  It uses a legacy FS9 menu that for some (perhaps even many) people will crash FSX.  Some people have had success finding and placing a copy of a Windows XP (or maybe it was Vista) uiautomationcore.dll in the FSX folder.  It's been a while since I tried it, but it didn't work so reliably for myself.  Search the official support forum (http://www.leveldsim.com/forums/forums.html) for more details.

I sure wish they could make a small rewrite/patch to make these menus FSX native and solve this issue.  Ever since they released the patch for the FMC data dump/engine start issue, this is the only blemish for running in FSX.  Unfortunately, it basically forces me to run the APU for the entire time sitting at the gate, which can be done, but isn't realistic for the airlines and operations I prefer to fly.
