Installer Crashing on install.

Featured Replies

I have Windows 7 64bit. The installer launches fine but then crashing with installing the first few files. ***File type shown in the picture.*** I have no idea what could be causing this. Help? :)

Also once after crashing, the installer app. icon disappears from the folder and I have to re-unzip the files.

-Manually delete the FSX\PMDG\PMDG 777X folder.

-Manually delete the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG 777-200LR and PMDG 777F folders if they're still there.

-There is a hidden set of folders that mirror the aircraft folders above located at C:\Users\(Your User Name)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\SimObjects - you can clear the two 777 folders here out as well.  (Note that to see this location you need the Windows folder option "Show hidden files, folders and drives." checked ON.)

After you've cleaned all that out, try again using Run as Admin.  Also, ensure your virus Scanner isn't interfering with the install.

Okay so It worked! I checked in the AppData and found no folders. But I turned off my antivirus and ran as administrator and it I have it loaded up in FSX. Thanks for the help!
