November 12, 200421 yr This is for any panel gurus out there. I have something strange happening with the trim and it appears to be panel specific. What happens is I load any 727 model be it the old FFX one, Captain sim, or Erick Cantu's latest (not released) and the trim works ok if I am in spot view when I start out. As soon as I get into the cockpit the trim seems to overeact quite badly with just a small movement producing huge pitch changes. Not really huge but its too much trim applied and it results in some unwanted pitch excursions. If I remain in spot view without going into panel view, everything seems fine and even watching the elevator it seems the trim behaves normally. Its fine on any model until I get into the cockpit, then it suddenly becomes too sensitive and it is even visible watching the elevator in spot view. This is only true with this panel and Im wondering if others see this. I havent started messing with the config yet as i only see it with Richards panel. Anyone have any ideas how to fix it or why its happening, its a lovely panel but with this problem its pretty much unflyable without autopilot.Hornit
November 12, 200421 yr Tad curious myself as I see this time and again even though I have trip setting set to the lowest possible increase/decrease increments. Some take a nose dive or head for the heavens if I just give it a single notch.I was thinking it was more model dependant as opposed to panel dependant. Have you tried the same aircraft with a different panel to see if you get different results? (come to think of it... why don't I try that?) ;)
November 12, 200421 yr same results no matter the model, it definitely appears to be panel specificHornit
November 13, 200421 yr Author OK, well, have you tried loading in 2D ? Many panels require this, not sure if the RP panel does or not, but, it works perfectly fine here. When I load it, almost immediately after hitting "Fly Now", I can hear the trim noise, as the gauges load. Regards,Brian Doney
November 15, 200421 yr The panel doesn't do anything to the trim function - it just indicates it. Maybe you can try opening up your aircraft.cfg with a text editor such as Notepad and lowering the trim effectiveness?
