November 12, 200421 yr Wow another release from Carenado. I own their C210 and I really like it.I believe we'll start seeing posts here saying it's an excellent product...however my question is: Why a 60's VFR plane? Refreshingly different? maybe. But VFR flights are kind of pointless in FS2004 unless you fly over some well developed VFR sceneries. Maybe it'll be a new baby for bush pilots flying over Washington and Alaska. So really...absulotely nothing negative toward this new product...just some pop-up thoughts. November 12, 200421 yr If you're a low time pilot, looking for that "first" aircraft, a used 180 might be just the ticket. Just like Flight1's 172, I think these aircraft appeal to those of us who fantasize about our first aircraft, past, present or future. That's why I've gone nutty over Sport Pilot aircraft, since that's likely the aircraft category which will be my first aircraft.-John

You'll be blown away on how realistic Oahu looks if your familiar with the island.David
November 28, 200421 yr LOL at least 1/2 of my flying is VFR and it's great. Try flying around Vancouver island, (can even get freeware 38m mesh in the download section at www.fsgenesis.net).I can't see how this is a beginners only plane either. I love small VFR aircraft, and own a few too many of them I'm sure lol.
November 28, 200421 yr Why is VFR flying "pointless"? Even default scenery is good enough to make it possible to fly using VFR charts only. With addon mesh, landclass and American Data you get reasonable VFR scenery for the entire US. With Megascenery, Visual Flight England+Wales etc. you get every single landmark from the real world covering entire countries (in the case of Visual Flight and Swiss Pro). And yes I guess what draws me to VFR aircraft is the ability to fantasize about it being "my own" aircraft. Kind of hard to do that when flying 747's or warbirds... -
