Out of Memory - On approach only

Featured Replies

Hi all,

The new PMDG 777 is awesome. However, I do have one issue. Whenever I am on final with an add-on airport, my computer runs out of memory and FSX crashes. I know I have enough RAM (8 gigs). I have read that it is an inherent FSX issue since it is a 32 bit program. Any suggestiions to alleviate this issue.

Many thanks,

Tony

Well, there's your problem.

It's not a RAM issue - it's a VAS issue.

See the Intro Manual for recommendations.

I ran out of memory too last night on a flight from charlotte to jfk. Ran out right when I touched down. I have the latest manhattan x so I know that may be the problem, plus I was changing the views alot taking screenshot which I know also contributes to the oom.

At kclt sitting on r36c my vas is 2.5 gig. At flightbeam KSFO starting at a gate my vas was 3.5gig so I will be removing that airport. BTW I have a max texture of 1024, did really saw a difference with 2048 and I'm using 1024 clouds, traffic at 8%, autogen set to normal
