Hello all,

    Just today I was flying ATL to LAX and tried to contact ATC on VATSIM via multiple times.  Finally I contacted the controller via Private Message and got a reply saying that they did not receive anything.  I double checked all the frequencies and they were correct.  Anyone know the solution?  Maybe I will try one more flight some time tonight.

Did you press the MIC button on the ACP?

was 'mic' illuminated on the comm selector?

It's mentioned in the manual to do this to talk at all.

For some reason the Mic button is deactivated when the aircraft load sheds or is powered off. Probably real behavior. There are 3 VHF radios, Vatsim can see L and R (not Centre though) and none of the HF radios. Select VHF com 1 (Left side) and then the radio panel works the same as the NGX.

 

You can select Com 2 to monitor and then you can do fun things like listen to both ATC and ATIS at the same time, or 2 ATC positions at the same time. Warning: This can be hard to understand, listening to 2+ people saying different things at the same time.
