  1. Thanks so much for all the help!! and just for the record, I knew 777 flew some short stops. I kinda expected a reply like yours lol Thanks, truly have been a big help!
  2. Made the super sampling changes along with the ones you (Kyle) and 777cap suggested. I've already seen some improvement! Prior, the initial resting fps I would get in the cockpit was 8.9 fps, now sitting around 17.6-19.4!!! Really appreciate the help!!! And now just to pick your brain just a bit longer, what is the general comparison in performance between the NGX and the 777, I'd love to have them both to mix between short and long haul. I know I can fly the 777 short cuz it's a sim, but I like to replicate realism to some extent.
  3. I'll give the mult=80 a go. Forgot to mention I also added the Affinity Mask prior to the post. bufferpool=0 helped a little. And regarding smoothness, that's what I'm striving for At the lower FPS for me it just is a slide show panning around the cockpit. I've been targeting 30 FPS and realistically hoping inside the cockpit can be around 20 fps. I'm getting close. Had it at 8xS, will change it to 4xS and see if that helps. Is there a specific 4xS profile or just the individual change. Sorry for the naivete, new to Nvidida GPU's
  4. Thanks for the info kyle. I have the AA off and water effects at High 1.x (so middle range). None of my sliders are too high (basically setting-high). I think my main issue is my older i7.
  5. A few days ago I upgraded from AMD 6850 to an Nvidida GTX 950. And while it has improved smoothness and FPS in other payware aircraft, my 777 only gets 7-10 FPS in the cockpit. I've been recently trying to decide if I want to purchase the NGX, but was curious if any of you could help me figure out why my system doesn't seem to run the 777 well and if I can get it well optimized to run both the 777 and 737. i7 2600K @ 3.40 GHz (Sandy Bridge) 8 GB RAM (DDR3) Nvidia GEForce GTX 950 As far as the fsx.cfg, I've reset and then added the HighMemFix=1 TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=120 Bufferpools/PoolSize=0 and I've also added the Nvidia Inspector profile. Thanks for the help, Nick Stoker
  6. Thanks! That's what I figured, but thought I'd ask anyway!
  7. I am in a situation where I'm away from my dimming computer. Just curious if I buy the -300er on a laptop if I'll be able to download the manuals to read until income back to my Sim PC.
  8. Here's a method I developed. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/420048-i-think-ive-got-the-cargo-loading-distribution-down-check-it-out/

Can someone point me in the direction in FCOM or FCTM where I can find all the normal numbers and ranges I need to watch when I do EICAS checks in Pre-TO, CRZ, DES etc. Ex: What is the oil quantity normal range and when should I be concerned. I know the numbers have to be somewhere in the Manuals and was hoping you guys could help point me that way. Thanks!
  10. call me stupid, but I'm not completely sure how to use this spreadsheet. What is the end result? I had assumed it was a temp to put in the THRUST LIM page, but I appear to be wrong as that is a value to be entered. Some help for the naive please.
  11. I can't remember exactly what I did and I shut my computer down for the night, but I will get back to you in the morning. All I know is I was able to figure it out ad my calculations with pfpx match the fmc Zfw. Ill get back to you
  12. Thanks a lot, I used some of your data in this post: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/420048-i-think-ive-got-the-cargo-loading-distribution-down-check-it-out/#entry2787780 But after looking at your numbers I found your max ZFW needs to be adjusted to 461068. I was gonna mention some of the weights you found and give you some credit because some of your finds influenced my formula, but I could not, for the life of me, refine your post. Anyway thanks!
  13. But if you do this, the FMC automatically inputs PAX numbers and Cargo. Not the same according to PFPX. My method allows the use of inputting specifics for people like myself who enjoy inputting specific PAX numbers and cargo. To each their own I guess.
  14. I've just spent a while trying to figure out some algorithm or process to distribute weight in the same ratio received when setting the FMC Payload to MAX. The following is the method I have worked out. It's a bit of work but it feels good to realize it works when it does. I use PFPX to get a random cargo load then my own math to create weights to input into the FMC. I hope you find this method useful and if you find it to not work please let me know, but I've tried it at least 5 times with different weights and have everything matched. Please note: This is my way not a professional way. Firstly, here's my PFPX Setup for the 777LR (Pax model, not 77F) The aircraft weights are crucial for this to work. Required: PFPX for weight, unless you create your own random weights. Here's my PFPX Weight Settings: 1 PAX (Adult and Child)= 195 lbs Baggage (per pax) = 24 lbs (all 4 settings) When set at MAX the FMC has the FWD/AFT Cargo set at 39090/27030. If you break those numbers down they reduce to a simple ratio of 1303:901 <----- Important Number Now, here's a random payload, courtesy of PFPX: Note the # of Pax=230 (Infant is set to 0 weight). Note the Baggage=5520 Note the Cargo=25591 Now, time for some math. Multiply 230*195=44850 I check Payload=44850+5520+25591=75961 and that checks with PFPX! Remeber our 1303:901 ratio? I can't remember my mathematical thinking behind this, but there was a little voice from high school algebra inside my head that said add the two numbers and divide the cargo. 1303+901=2204. <--- Important Now, take the Cargo (applies to FWD/AFT, not Bulk. Bulk will be used for given baggage weight), 25591 and divide that by 2204. 25591/2204=11.6112 (rounded to 4 decimals) Because the 1303 and 901 are the lowest whole numbers you get with the FWD/AFT cargo ratio, multiply 1303 and 901 by 11.6112 1303*11.6112=15129.3936 <- round to nearest whole number 901*11.6112=10461.6912 <- round to nearest whole number 15129/10462..... WHAT!! 15129+10462=25591, that's the weight of the Cargo #! Here's how I load the FMC The PAX are set to 230 The FWD/AFT Cargo is set to 25591, broken down into the ratio of 15129/10462 I place the Baggage number from PFPX in the Bulk Cargo. The ZFW in the FMC matches the ZFW from PFPX setup above! I sincerely hope you guys work with this, see if there are any mistakes in my calculations. I have it written up in a non tutorial way, more of a checklist. If you want me to post that too, I can. Thank you so much and please let me know your feedback!!! EDIT: I just made a quick Spreadsheet. Input the numbers in the gray boxes and Yellow under AFT and FWD will you give you the Cargo load. Cheers! https://www.dropbox.com/s/opmgpcmxqla08i3/PMDG%20777X%20Weight%20Spreadsheet.xlsx

  16. Thank you very much!!
  17. I've been looking around the internet but have yet to find a solid answer I'm looking for. I'm curious what a typical 777 or any international pilot's flight trip would look like. I like to try best to simulate flying real life. How many flights do they fly per trip? etc. Thanks very much!

was 'mic' illuminated on the comm selector? It's mentioned in the manual to do this to talk at all.
  19. That's the way those knobs are designed to work. The 'small knobs' don't "scroll", you hold to the left or right to whichever Baro pressure you set; as this is done in the real aircraft. This is explicitly stated in the Introduction Manual.
  20. As someone who doesn't fly long hauls, or hadn't before now, should I just ask ATC for time accel or is it easier to get to cruise disconnect then reconnect? <--- that method seems like it would really tick off some controllers though if I popped up at 380 20nm from their airspace. How will the new innovation of time accel by the 77X affect flying on VATSIM?

Firstly, thank you very much for the 777. It's a wonderful plane and I look forward to the learning curve! I've encountered a problem with my EZCA and the 777. When I select 'Aircraft' to create outside views this is all I see: I've tried the HighMemFix in the CFG as well as restarting the EZCA program before starting FSX, during, and after FSX and after loading the CFG. I loaded another aircraft and the 'Aircraft' viewing option worked like normal. Any Suggestions? Thanks so much! sorry. repost from server error. please delete this post.

  24. Thank you very much, exactly something I was looking for!
  25. Thanks for all the suggestions guys!! I've looked into most of these and am considering purchasing some. Thanks again!
