Check in C\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX

C172P N97674
PPL SEL
Complex
High Performance

can you check to see if your terrain.cfg has been cleaned out. Have the same error as you today and found this file was now 0kb

There is one in the same folder where the fsx.cfg is located but that one is non-working and the default config.  It should never be deleted or renamed.  If you deleted or renamed this config, you might have received this error.

Best regards,

Jim

So, if you removed FTX/Orbx scenery, you forgot to go into FTX Central and change the setting from North America to Default.  This program adds the appropriate entries in your scenery.cfg to activate an Orbx/FTX scenery.  The error message you are looking at is indicating a scenery you had installed is no longer installed.  So, what you have to do is go to your Scenery.cfg (C:\Program Data\Microsoft\FSX) and open scenery.cfg with NotePad.  Now scroll to scenery area 121.  What scenery is scenery 121?  If it is no longer installed, delete the entry and save your config and go fly.  There's a faster way to edit your scenery.cfg and that's download SceneryConfigEditor and running that program.  It will tell you when you start up if something is wrong and offer to correct it.

Best regards,

Jim

When i try to open FTX Central after the 1.1 update it gives me a error, so with that i cant do much.

When i look at the scenery.cfg it only goes o area 120, and i'm getting errors area 121 123 124 125. I try's SceneryConfigEditor and it has found 4 errors related to FTX-regions yes, but still i dont know hot to fix it..

or should i add the missing areas manualy in the scenery.cfg?

Or can someone of you post his scenery.cfg stuff here so i can copy it to mine =)

I heard the folks over at Orbx did not like the SceneryConfigEditor as they wanted to make sure you activated or deactivated their scenery only from FTX Central.  If FTX Central is not working properly, then you'll have to delete all of your FTX scenery and reinstall everything.  If those four errors are related to FTX regions, you need to delete them manually from the Scenery.cfg or the SceneryConfigEditor as the links to those FTX Scenery files are no longer correct.

If you have Acceleration installed, then your default scenery should run up to Area.120.  After that is all Addon scenery.

[Area.120]
Title=Edwards_AFB
Local=Scenery\Cities\Edwards_AFB
Layer=120
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE

For the default or SP2, the last default area is Area.115 Addon Scenery.

In the same folder that contains your fsx.cfg there is a default scenery.cfg.  It is a non-working config and I understand you should never edit or delete it.  However, you can go there and copy the config and place it in your working scenery.cfg folder (C:\Program Data\Microsoft\FSX).  You can then go through the tedious process of adding your addon scenery (the SceneryConfigEditor is excellent for accomplishing this task as using the Scenery Library has bugs).  But, remember you cannot add any Orbx/FTX scenery in this manner.  It has to be done via the FTX Central. Once you copy the default scenery.cfg to the working scenery.cfg folder, you should try opening FTX Central.  Once opened, it should be set to the default and, when you click on World Scenery it should activate all of your FTX scenery installed.

Best regards,

Jim
