Featured Replies

Hey Gang,Just found this.....Start at runway 31 (Kalispell, Montana) and just take off - you can't miss it. You'll see to left after take off. It shows as Mower field (MT84)I have default scenery (no addon mesh) for this area.Try landing your heavy metal up there LOL Have fun.....RegardsEddy:-spacecraft

We deliver!!billg

Glad the delivery arrived up there. Wonder what the cargo was....oh yeah, I very very long ladder! :)

I hope the cargo wasn't fragile. It hit the dirt at about 150 knots. I said "we deliver." No guarantees. You need a bigger man than me to touch it down up there and come to a full stop before the ledge, hehe. I didn't even try. :-)Nice find. I had a friend a long time ago that lived in Kalispel. Everyone says the place they come from is nice, but wow, that looks like god's country. He was right, mountains, lakes, rivers, some nice. And it's high, so temperate. Hmmm...Wierd that I got it too, and I have fsgenesis, both the lc and the mesh. But hey, way beyond me to figure out. Thx again!billg

Also got it - here I have Raimondo Taburets mesh for the whole USA.Dave

EddyYou are not the first to notice this anomally. Apparently caused by an inaccurate field elevation entry in M$'s database. Here's my previous post fyi.... Larry---------------------------------------I see that too. I believe that if you look closely there is a grass strip airport (or what passes for an airport in Montana) Mower Field MT84 on top of the fake plateau. Worse yet, MT84's altitude shows as 4000 ft in all the internet databases I could find. 4000 ft is exactly what FS9 shows. So I guess the question is how to adjust the altitude of an airport. 3050 would be about correct.I have a Montana Aeronatuics Division Airport Directory from 2002. MT84 didn't make the list so I guess it got into the FAA database incorrectly somehow.MT84 is fun to land and depart on. Like a carrier landing without arresting cables. If you want to read about a real pilot who didn't have a good time, read the 16 Sept 2003 Reports and Breaking News here: http://www.montanapilots.org/Larry JonesFlorence, MT

Thanks for the hint Brian. Is the fix for Mower Field in your LandClass download or in your Montana Airports download which includes the Montana Air Kalispel OPS center? (I think I answered my own question. Naturally it would be in the Airport Package tucked into the Kalispel BGL!!)Larry JonesFlorence, MT

Cool, after LOWI, VHKT and USS Nimitz yet another airport we can use to put our skills to the test... The question is: Do I really want this nice chunk in the landscape fixed?Just landed a heavy 777 on top of it. Okay, I cheated a little bit. Almost empty tanks and 50kts of headwind :)Holger.

did you stop before the end? It sounds like you did. If so, grats. I was to scared to even try. Well, not scared, but busy. I was going to do a touch and go from the get go so while I was on final I was already figuring out how to get out, hehe. Cool!billg

Yeah - not sure I'm ready to fix it myself yet - off to try the heavy landing now....LOLThanks for the links BTW on the Montana stuff Brian. A very good friend of mine (retired commercial pilot) went to Kalispel recently for the Ercoupe meeting. I'll see if he remembers or has photos of this place....RegardsEddy:-jumpy
