Fuel Jettison procedure?

Recommended Posts

Overhead: press the arm button. Open the two transparent covers and press the left and right dump buttons. With this setting the a/c will dump all available fuel down to minimum quantity of 20t (? not so sure about that, you can check the FCOM). You have option to manually input a specific quantity: pull the round dual and rotate left to decrease or right to increase (down on the centre display the selected rem quantity is displayed).

After dump is complete it will automatically shutoff the valves. You need to shut the system on the overhead using reverse method.

And yes, the fuel trails are modeled.

The exact procedures are in the Supplementary Procedures chapter of FCOM Volume 1.

Exactly what I was going to say.

A simple step-by-step procedure is also found on p. 12.14 of the QRH, which is a great reference to keep at hand while flying as it contains much of what is needed to solve problems/address issues in time-critical situations when fumbling around in the FCOMs is too time-consuming.

Hi guys,

Have someone a procedure on how to dump fuel correctly and is it visible on the PMDG 777 ?

Thanks

Gilles

You should use the Fuel Jettison checklist from the electronic checklist.

Tried it yesterday, woks beautifully!

Takes a while though to dump all that fuel.....very realistically modeled :-)

But you can "fast forward" if you want, by entering a new fuel load (put in 25T for example if you want to dump to 20T remaining fuel) under FS Actions in the CDU.

Time remaining to dump fuel can be seen on the fuel synopsys page!
