September 16, 201312 yr Might have been discussed elsewhere but there is a rather obvious issue when these transitions occure . It is in step and not very smooth at all. Is this also fixed with the DX10 Fixer ? Michael Moe Personally I have never seen, nor heard of this being mentioned on any forum, Michael. So, to answer your question, I set the Chipmunk to the left of the MAAM hangar at KRDG, starting the session in December at 16:08 local time, engine running, brakes on and watched the sky and scenery slowly move from light blue (weather cleared) through yellow/gold/copper, with stars begining to peek, through to the dark night sky, actually switching to "night" at 17:09. Watching constantly, I saw no evidence that any switch occurred as the time went by. From this I can only conclude that you do not have "DAWN_DUSK_SMOOTHING=1" turned on, under [scenery} in your fsx.cfg, or there is something else happening with your system, perhaps REX or Active Sky interfering - but this will be something for you to test. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
September 18, 201312 yr Author Thanks for the reply - maybe i forgot to mention that its in the cloud layer (not on ground) when in climb over clouds i see these step which is not smooth but really in stages . I did have the line in my FSX.cfg. Maybe its REX handling who is to blame ?. DX10 optimized is also enabled in REX+ hmm Michael Moe
September 18, 201312 yr Aaah.. hmmmm.. all of the cloud generators - the weather engines - do this in some way or other, whether DX9 or DX10, Michael. I think what you are referring to, is known as "cloud popping", and some programs manage it better than others, but it's an inherent 'bug', if you like, with FSX (and FS9). At this moment I like FS Global Real Weather, but it still happens occasionaly. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
