September 20, 201312 yr Neat huh? I assume that the symbols are the ranch brand. I spotted this from FL 320 on a flight from XNA to LAS a few weeks ago. Noted the location and had to go back and check it out. The symbols are so large they are easily visible from that altitude. I spotted something unusual the other day in the Nevada wilderness. I'll have to get you the gps coordinates.

September 22, 201312 yr Had to go back this morning in my F14 (in case I ran into trouble :h01162: ) and find it again. The only notes I had was that it was between Beatty and Lida Junction Nevada when I originally spotted it on a flight from Reno to Vegas. It appeared to be an old abandoned airfield but the X looked suspicious with a perimeter road that was washed out. N37 12.01 W 117 11.10 will put you right over it. After some research turns out this is Bonnie Claire airfield. Found a wealth of info on it near the bottom of this page: http://www.airfields-freeman.com/NV/Airfields_NV_S.htm I'm going to use that website now and fly out to find some these old airstrips. Good luck!
