You should download and run AppCrashView - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html and paste the error report in the lower pane here.  It interprets the Microsoft Crash Reports.

The ntdll.dll CTD indicates heavy memory usage and is usually caused by high settings.  I hope you followed the guidelines for memory settings in the PMDG 777 Introduction guide.

I got an ntdll.dll ctd soon after installing the 777 but it was not the fault of the 777 but, for some reason I lost the Coautl menu for my FSDT programs.  I simply downloaded the latest and that fixed the problem.

I also got an ntdll.dll ctd with a corrupt dll.xml.  I had several line items that belonged to software I had uninstalled AND I had two entries that were exactly the same that belonged to the PMDG 737 and 777.  I deleted the latest one and restarted FSX and no more crashes.

Of course it could also be a bad tweak or setting in the Fsx.cfg too.  Just too many variables.  We have to investigate.

Best regards,

Jim

Downloaded App crash view. Cut and pasted per your advice. Not sure if its possible to view VAS usage in real time since this could be memory related.. Not sure if this format helps. Believe its probably related to REX. Was taking off from FlyTampa's KMDW in the NGX. This was my 2nd flight using REX.

Microsoft Visuals - Your Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 program is completely out of date. Here's the latest - http://www.microsoft...s.aspx?id=26347. When FSX and FSX addons run, they look for a certain version of MS Visuals.  Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 is completely out of date too. Here's the latest - http://www.microsoft...s.aspx?id=26368. Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 is required too but the report indicates it is installed.  As far as I know it is only used by PMDG.  It loaded properly.

There is no known solution (magic bullet) for ntdll.dll errors but they are memory related (indicating too high settings or memory configurations).  Make sure your Virtual Memory (Page file) is set to System Managed Size as this seems to work the best for this old program called FSX.  It is set at System Managed Size by default.  To check click on the Start button, then, in the search box type Virtual Memory then look up and click on something like How to change Virtual Memory Settings.

I recently got an ntdll.dll crash and fixed it by looking at my dll.xml (in the same folder as FSX.cfg).  Using NotePad++ (Google), I opened it up and saw that there were two exact entries for PMDG.  I deleted one of them.  I also found several items for software I had uninstalled.  I removed those entries, save the file and the ntdll.dll error went away.

Also suspect the LOD_Radius and Texture_Max_Load lines in your FSX.cfg whenever you get a crash if you ever modified them (like changed LOD_Radius to anything above the default max of 4.5).

Hope this helps,

Best regards,

Jim

Never had issues prior to installing REX but you've given me several avenues to explore before uninstalling. Was just looking for a decent weather engine. Will definitely look for a dublicate ntdll.dll file as I had just installed the PMDG T7 and the NGX 600/700 add on. Kindest regards and thanks again.

Well, I had been stuck in the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mode. I updated the Microsoft visuals and went to check my virtual paging file settings which I thought were set at application managed. Neither drive was set correctly. As this was more than likely memory related, I think I found the culprit.  Didn't find any duplicate dll xml entries in my FSX config file but did find a couple of unwanted ones from previous programs. Completed an identical flight to the one where I had my CTD with no issues and a couple more after that. Crossing my fingers. Thanks again
