CH Pro Throttle USB: Is revers thrust possible?

Featured Replies

I have the CH Pro throttle USB, not the quadrant. I was wondering if there is a way to setup reverse thrust on this throttle? I've also noticed that while this throttle is plugged in, I cannot use the regular FS2004 keyboard control for reverse thrust which is the F2 key. Thank you.

It is possible with FSUIPC. But I guess you would need a registered version (I don't really know as I registered from day 1). Question is if this would make a lot of sense though as you do not have a detent on that thing. So without a detent it is very easy to get from idle to reverse unwillingly. You would have to set up quite a large dead zone to avoid this which again doesn't make a lot of sense as the travel of the CH yoke levers is very amall to begin with.In case you want to try anyway go to the Throttle calibration inside FSUIPC. It is pretty much self explaining.Alex

I think the first responder is not familiar with the Pro Throttle which I have. The travel is quite a large range unlike the yoke mounted lever. The poster was correct in stating that you have to be careful without a gate or detent. What you can do without FSUIPC is calibrate from the Control Panel Gaming Options the idle point maybe about 25% up from the bottom. Mark it with something then when calibrating via gaming options and it asks to set the lever/control at minimum use this marked location. This will become your idle point. Within FS9 set a wider null zone on the throttle sensitivity scale to allow for some variation. If you have FSUIPC registered calibrate in gaming options normally but in gaming options use just a tad above bottom for the minimum travel. Within FSUIPC you can use the marked point as minimum setting up throttle calibration. Alternatively you can map the throttle axis using the multi-engine extension which will give it to you automaticly. As far as the key/button mapping, with the throttle plugged in you'll have to unassign any conflicts by choosing assignments in each of the control devices selected including key assignments. In the upper right tab you'll see a dropdown to select each control device.I do not use CH Control Manager.I found it difficult to use without a detent the throttle for reverse thrust. What I did do was assign a stick button to throttle increment decrease (F2) with a slow repeat on the slider.

The poster made a mistake in thinking the hardware in question was a CH Yoke. That happens when you answer posts in the forum during a landing in FS on the 2nd computer. Sorry fr that. However the other issues not regarding the travel are still valid. The poster

I also own a CH Pro Throttle USB and have no problem with the F2 reverse key. The throttle has to be properly calibrated or FS thinks it's not at idle, so when you press the F2 key, it does nothing. As for setting up a reverse zone, you need FSUIPC (registered) to do this. I have a button on my throttle programmed for F1 and another for F2. this allows me to set idle and then reverse with just throttle buttons.Cheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
