Manual gear extension handles

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where the panel that has the manual extension handles is?  The manual says it is on the flight deck floor, but I have looked everywhere that I can on the flight deck floor, and I cannot find it.

Thanks,

Crud...why would it be in the manual if it isn't?  Bummer.  I had an emergency where my gear would not extend at all.  It would have been nice to have had manual gear extension handles to see if maybe I could get them to come down manually.

I have a memory (though I cant find the evidence) that the manual extension is implemented, but the animation of the extension lever and cover wasn't. I think there was a click spot on the floor behind the co-pilot but I cant remember if you click and hold and click a lot to manually lower the gear.

The manual gear extension handles (cables actually) are located under a door on the floor of the flight deck just to the rear and right of the aft electronics stand near the F/O seat. You can see this in NGX, but there is no clickspot there unfortunately. Perhaps there is another way to manually extend the gear in NGX?

Just to the Partial or All Gear Up Landing QRH checklist if you can't extend the gear :)

Because the manuals (FCOM/FCTM) are the full Boeing manuals for the real 737, and reflect the real thing.
