Ah, that is interesting! I had some inexplicable problems with FS some time back, loss of FPS, blurries. I did install Cliffs of Dover (Dvd version) at that time but I didn't connect the two events! I solved my problems by reinstalling my Nvidia drivers and resetting Nvidia Inspector and Nvidia settings for FS9. Maybe this will work for you too?
