October 11, 201312 yr Commercial Member Very strange issue. I'm getting wrong gpws altitude callouts due to wrong AGL reading. Using MeatWaters gauge on freeware planes or NGX, callouts are wrong. In NGX on ground AGL is 9ft, in QW 757 12ft, and in B747 is about 20ft. Since when FSX is measuring AGL from the position of the cockpit, or maybe aircraft's COG? Now in QW 757 20ft is called just before the touchdown, and in B747 30ft is the last call before the touchdown. I've never had this issue before, always got proper AGL readings on ground, 0ft in any plane, and good gpws callouts.Any ideas?Sent from my U8815 using Tapatalk 2 Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.
October 26, 201312 yr Author Commercial Member Only solution I found is to use different callouts gauge in which you can define at exactly what altitude AGL particular callout sound will play. October 26, 201312 yr The radio height in FSX is based on the height of the cockpit. So if the GPWS is based on the FSX radio height you will get different values from different aircraft.
October 26, 201312 yr Author Commercial Member Yeah, I noticed that. The thing that is bothering me is that I didn't had that problem before, also with MeatWaters GPWS gauge. I used at least 3- or 4 planes with that gauge and didn't noticed wrong callouts, strange.
