October 12, 201312 yr Hello, Today I tried to fly in the CTP event, and a few minutes after pushback, my computed was stuck. I opened the task manager to see that my CPU usage has gone up to 100%. It happened with the NGX, Flytampa Boston and FS Global, and FSINN connected to VATSIM. It happened a couple of times before. I have i5 2500, GTX560 TI and 8gb ram. Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. Any help would be really appreciated! Liam K
October 12, 201312 yr On the processes tab, scroll down through the list for any process that has the highest CPU percentage and try to end that process and see if that helps. You might try Googling that process using the high CPU percentage to help you figure out what it is. It could be a bad driver, an out of date software program that is taking up a lot of memory. You can try to disable all of your startup programs (they really are not needed). Click on the Run command and type msconfig and then look under the Startup Tab and disable all. Restart your computer and see if this fixes your problem. A computer virus or spyware (malware) could have infected your system. Run an anti-virus and spyware program to make sure your computer is totally clean. Disconnect peripherals by shutting down your computer and disconnecting external devices such as printers, scanners, backup drives. Leave only your mouse and keyboard connected and reboot. See if this fixes the problem. If it does, reconnect peripherals one by one until the problem reappears. It could just need a software or driver update. Update your drivers or make sure they are up-to-date. I use a freeware driver scanner program that scans for outdated drivers. It will provide me with a list of things out-of-date. If you want the program to update the drivers automatically for you, you can purchase it or, if you are familiar with Google, you can look at what drivers need updating then Google the driver and download it and install it yourself. Most likely your problem will be connected with FSInn/VATSIM and an improper setup. Make sure you review their configuration setup guides. Internet communications is the biggest resource hog if not properly setup. If you have photoscenery, make sure the areas you will not be flying in are disabled in the Scenery Library.
