London Olympic Park

Featured Replies

Does anybody know of any scenery that depicts the London Olympic Park? It is now a major landmark that is visible on arrivals to Heathrow 27L/R, it is very close to London City, and some departure routes from Gatwick will also go nearby. It would be great to have the major buildings in FS - the Olympic Stadium, the Aquatics Centre, the Orbit, the Copper Box and the Velodrome.

While on the subject of sporting venues in London, I noticed that FS2004 needs updates for both Wembley Stadium and Wimbledon, as the buildings for both are obsolete in FS. And what about Twickenham rugby stadium which would be very visible to the left of aircraft on relatively short finals to Heathrow 27L/R. Does anybody know of any scenery that will resolve these matters? Does FSX correct them (I don't have FSX)? Is it possible to import them to FS2004?

Thanks.

I do not think there is yet. I added the Shard to the London skyline, in the library. Driving past the park the other day, I thought perhaps leave it for a year or two to let the new developments shape the place, then have a go at that.

The visualflight London scenery is getting quite dated now. Construction cranes near EGLC are surely long gone now, and a few more skyscrapers of note have risen.

Either Aerosoft will do a total overhaul with that Polish studio that have done New York, or it is down to the community to keep it up to date. However some of the Aerosoft city sceneries have been for FSX only, so it may have to be a community thing keeping FS9 up to date.

Yes, I have found the Shard too, and that is a welcome addition to FS9. As for the Olympic Park, I hope somebody does decide to create a scenery as this will be such an important addition, if only for nostalgic reasons. Alas I don't have the knowhow or skills to do it myself.
