I've had it happen a couple of times, mainly when I change the view, I get a windows beep played for a few minutes. Any ideas? I know my system is bottom of the barrel, I assume it could be my system struggling?

What you're hearing is most likely FSUIPC warning you of high memory usage. There's a setting in fsuipc's ini file in the modules folder that will trigger this sound to give you an opportunity to save your flight and exit FSX before it may crash.
