October 16, 201312 yr I currently run a Gateway FX 6860 destop with a intel I7 2600 CPU @ 3,4 GHZ and a H67 MOBO. I was looking to upgrade to a I7 3770k but tragically the H67 can't work with the I7 3770k. So I had to ask what MOBO is the CHEAPEST(I'm on a VERY tight budget) MOBO that I can run with the I7 3770k. Theres a repair shop near where I live and they don't sell parts but if I get the parts and take it to them they'll help me refit the computer with the new hardware. Please note that I would also like to install a Xigmatek Nighthawk 2 SD1283 cooler along with the new hardware. Regards, John
October 16, 201312 yr Unfortunately, the prospect of re-fitting a new mobo into an OEM production case is often a real crap-shoot. Be very careful that the board will fit once populated with RAM, that there is adequate airflow over the critical board components, and that the power supply is adequate. Often some or all of these considerations prove to be showstoppers.
