Airspeed Indicator Needle Pulsing

Featured Replies

Hi

I posted this in the official HiFi forum but so far no response so I thought I would try here.

When flying any GA type aircraft whether FSX Default or 3rd Party i.e. A2A C172 or Realair aircraft etc, my Airspeed Indicator Needle pulses (small jumps) about once every second, for some reason this does not happen when flying the PMDG 737NGX or B777 (maybe due to a CRT rather than a gauge). I am using AS2012 SP3 Beta B5025 and the registered FSUIPC 4.9, although this problem has been apparent for quite some time now, before the SP updates, I just haven't got around to reporting it before.

The reason I think its associated with AS2012 is because if AS2012 is not running, in my case on another computer via a network, this problem doesn't happen. If I use AS2012 then I get the pulsing problem again. All weather in FSUIPC is turned off - can someone please help.

Thanks

Glen

Bump

I've noticed this sometimes as well, but it happened in some places and some not. Honestly, I think it just has to do with the winds/weather. I was flying a C172 around an airport report winds gusting to 28 kts, my needle was bumping around all over the place, had very noticeable turbulence and difficulty maintaining good control. Then loaded up elsewhere, where the winds were calm, and no such issue. If you get hit with a huge wind gust, it will affect your speed accordingly. It's supposed to happen. Just my theory.

I just reinstalled Windows/FSX/AS2012 a few days ago so I am still using SP2, haven't downloaded any extra betas or anything. Unregistered FSUIPC.

Many thanks for your comments.

I have also read this can happen during gusty winds, but in my case its happening all the time even when the winds are slight.  It appears some data is being fed into the ASI causing these 'once per second' pulses.
