November 2, 201312 yr I have a pretty nice system 2600k 4.8ghz and a GTX680. I get really high frames but for some reason, FSX just does't seem smooth. I have used the "tweaking tool' that everyone uses on they're CFGs and get very good frames but my eye sees some stutters. I was thinking maybe my memory but I feel like I have good memory at DDR3 1600Mhz using 9-9-9-24. I feel if I was using a computer monitor instead of an HDTV maybe the intangible "smoothness" would be better. The only time I see true smothness is when I'm at Midway Island and I get 200-ish FPS. Yeah, I know that's a lot of FPS!
November 5, 201312 yr I know what you mean, you are getting high framerates but the frames are still not displayed smoothly in a constant rate. FSX is quite a bit choppy even at higher frame rates. When panning around it's fine, but when flying and looking out of the window there are little lags constantly. The only way to get rid of it is VSync 1/2 refresh rate. Arjen Vandervelde
November 7, 201312 yr I get really high frames but for some reason, FSX just does't seem smooth If you have the frames to spare set FSX to 60 FPS limited and turn vsync on (assuming your TV has 60Hz refresh rate). gb. November 10, 201312 yr Turn on triple buffering in Nvidia Inspector. This will use a bit more video memory in trade for extra smoothness. Without this, FSX uses double buffering by default. Combined with VSync as pointed out, this will make FSX very smooth. With a HDTV, it's still 1080p resolution like a monitor, but the pixels are just spread out more. Jeff Thomson
