-> iFDG A320: hard to slow down / Simple panel? <-

Featured Replies

Wow thanks everyone for your informative and very useful replies ThrottleUp is grateful :)Wagz-Thats cool that you can track the GPS flight plan from the Marciano panel! But if Im not mistaken the GPS display cannot be called up on that panel right? I think its because the author was striving for Airbus realism and didnt include access to it. Thats cool that you went on a real-life A320 flight and noticed the spoilers deployed all the way until final! Goody...now I dont feel like Im being "less realistic" by popping them up to help slow down from cruise to begin the letdown.-------------------------------------------pwal-Yea I didnt think about right-clicking either - its not something I ever thought about doing on a panel! Learn something everyday I guess!-------------------------------------------Johan_Dees-Good advice on descending earlier. I think Ill add 15nm to the TOD! That should sort me out! I have heard about the efficiency of Airbus wings but I guess they caught me off-guard. Sorry to hear about your A320 pilot friend :( -------------------------------------------Shez-Do you use this A320 panel by Ken Mitchell? Do you get ILS idications on the PFD?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/100155.jpg

While there is no GPS on Eric's panel, you should get the green line for your filed flight plan on the HSI. His panel can also optionally display Airports, VORs, NDBs etc as purple dots on the display. The right hand knob of the two I mentioned before changes the range on the display, from 10 up to 80 nm I think. Pretty much does the same thing as the default GPS without the performance hit.As for Ken's panel, I haven't used it, but I see he has the same two knobs I mentioned on Eric's panel. I don't know if they do anything or not, but you may have to also switch the left kbob to "LS" for the ILS to display. The same applies on PMDG's 737NG panels: If you switch to VOR mode with an ILS tuned a message appears stating that this is not an active VOR signal. Joe
