December 10, 200421 yr Hello All!Just curious what is everyone's take on UT or T2K4? I currently own UT 2004 and was wondering if traffic was better.Any thoughts appreciated! Thanks,Rob S.Captain Delta VA737-8/900 Rob Sciarrino
December 10, 200421 yr if you allready have UT, why do you ask about another program, do you have problems with UT?BTW, UT here, not tried Traffic 2004, had UT since before FS9, I use UT for Schedualed traffic, PAI for Cargo, GA Traffic for GA, and have various other traffic files for military, airshows, additional GA, etc. My major airports are packed, my small airfields are busy, taxiways and skys are alive with planes, i sometimes even use my RA Spitfire to chase them :)
December 10, 200421 yr Just always curious I guess. UT works fine for me, just wondering if there were any benefits to Traffic. Big question regarding UT. When I bump the AI traffic up, it causes havoc when trying to come in on Final at large aiports. I'm always stuck going around, ignoring ATC (shhhh, don't tell) :-), and waiting for AI to taxi off the runway (all the way at the end). I know this has been an issue since FS9 can't space aircraft. Would anyone have a solution for this? Thanks!Rob Rob Sciarrino
December 10, 200421 yr Neither.. go for MRAI, patience and do it yourself and save all the nice cash for upcoming payware aircraft :D :DI tried both, and I can honestly say that there isnt that big a difference from those and the freeware - except of course somebody else has done the work for you :)My Traffic I liked the best since it had both GA AND military aircraft if I had to choose.
December 11, 200421 yr Rob, I have UT since it first came out and like it very much. Easy interface and easy install. I haven't tried T2K4 only because it probably does the same thing as UT. I use GA Maker for local traffic but haven't thought of using PAI for some cargo flights! :-) Be careful, fiddling with AI can be highly addictive. ;-) As for control of AI, the new version of Radar Contact does a nice job. If I'm cleared to land then the planes on the ground don't taxi onto my runway and others get the Go Around instead of me. :-)) If I have a heavy on my tail trying to fly through me to land first, RC slows him down and that doesn't happen. This has saved me a lot of paint jobs on the back of the ol Piper Archer.Having fun,Rob A
December 11, 200421 yr Hi RobIs the new version of RC4 out now or are you expressing your joy as a beta tester?I want to have fun tooTony
December 11, 200421 yr Not out just yet. Check the RC forum here at Avsim for an idea of where it's at now. Sorry, didn't mean to come on with an infomercial for RC, it's just so fun not to have the AI wipe out my approach!Best, Rob
December 12, 200421 yr I thought as much - no need to apologise. I'm just so looking forward to it's release, thanks for your observations.CheersTony
December 12, 200421 yr Is there going to be voice recognition with RC4? That would be awesome- I would buy it in a second. I've heard great things, but I have no interest in pushing any more keys than I do now.
December 12, 200421 yr I believe that some use Voice programs, but I'm not one of them. The very few keystrokes I do use can't be any more than you must use for the default ATC. You can change voice/key assignments to do what you want. Ask about it at the RC forum where the ones using it can tell you more.Best, Rob
December 12, 200421 yr Author Commercial Member Each product will have its vices, but I have found great fun this part week by spotting UT04 aircraft without liveries and installing them myself from the likes of PAI or AI Aardvark.Visit john Goodwins site if you haven't done this yourself yet.http://www.john-goodwin.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/index.htmlBe warned, long late nights of downloading fun will follow! Also, UT04 is a little weak in Russia, but these people have a great pack in 2 easy downloads that will fill your Russian airports with weird and wonderful liveries. They have a great reverse thrust noise too.http://homepage.ntlworld.com/sergs.skj/SKJ...ic/download.htmRegardsGraeme
